Fingerprinting for Candidate who Reside Inside California

For candidates within California, Live Scan is most efficient method, taking about 7-10 days, for background check requirement for licensure. To complete the Live Scan process, complete the Live Scan Service Form (BCIA 8016) and bring the completed form to an authorized Live Scan Operator located near you https://oag.ca.gov/fingerprints/locations. Your fingerprints will be digitally taken and submitted electronically to the California DOJ. If you use the Live Scan method, you are not required to provide fingerprinting cards or fee to the committee for processing.

Please enter the below information to the applicable areas for your background check to be sent to the Landscape Architects Committee for review:

  • ORI: Enter “AP389”. This is the unique agency code for the California Architects Board
  • Authorized Applicant type: Enter “LANDSCAPE ARCH BPC 5650.5”.
  • Type of License/Certification/Permit OR Working Title: Enter "CB PC 5650.5 and CB PC 144".
  • Agency Authorized to Receive Criminal Record Information: Enter “California Architects Board”.
  • Mail Code: Enter “26284”. This is the unique five-digit code assigned by the DOJ for the California Architects Board.
  • Street Address, City, State, and Zip Code: Enter “2420 Del Paso Road, Suite 105, Sacramento, CA, 95834-9673".
  • Contact Telephone Number: Enter “(916) 575-7230”.
  • Level of Service: Please check both “DOJ” and “FBI” boxes.
